The training pyramid describes the progressive building blocks of the dressage discipline and applies whether you are working with a 3 yr. old or trying to perfect a Grand Prix horse. Any problems encountered during training, provided there are no physical or psychological issues, can be traced to a gap in one of the building blocks on this training pyramid.
Intelligent riding requires a complete understanding of these theories, a keen eye, and strong analytical skills. In order to improve your horse, you must always be aware, be prepared to reexamine whatever issue you may
encounter, and analyze what may be lacking in your approach or in the building blocks of training.
